In this video, we have discussed the 3 farm bills which were passed by the government of India recently. Initially, we touched upon who introduced these bills in the Lok Sabha and then we understood some important terminologies like MSP, APMC, Essential commodities, etc. Then we moved on to the important provisions of these 3 bills, i.e. The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020.
After discussing the provisions in a simplified manner, we moved to the issues farmers are having with these laws and what changes can be made to these bills to address the ongoing farmers’ protests.
